Bad Feet? Put Them in Honey!

March 12, 2015

Manuka Honey Products For Skin Care

Curiosity got the best of you, didn't it? You just have to know why you should be dipping your toes into honey! You have bad feet, but for some reason you just "deal" with it. Who has the time to treat their feet well, right? After all, it is not as if we stand and/or walk on them all day. One of the hardest working parts of our body and what do we do? We stick them in dark socks, hide them in shoes (sometimes the ever fashionable high heel), and we punish them all day! No more! If you have bad feet, it is time to dip them in honey, sort of.

We Have a Foot Problem

If your dogs are barking, you are not alone. Be it rough soles, sore feet, athletes feet, or toenail fungus, most of us have experienced one or more of these conditions at some point. For the worst cases, you either head to the doctor or the local CVS and pay way too much for a remedy that you can make at home. Oddly enough, most of the ingredients are probably already sitting in your pantry.

The Dangers of Ignoring Your Problem Feet

Forget about the discomfort, there are some very serious issues associated with foot problems, especially toenail fungus (a condition affecting over 10 percent of Americans). If left untreated, the infection can spread well beyond the nail and affect other parts of the toe and foot. For those already suffering from other conditions, such as Diabetes, AIDS, and Leukemia, these dangers are very real.

Homemade Honey-Tea Tree Oil Foot Bath

So, how can you pamper your feet and help prevent problems from getting started? Take a few minutes every night and give your feet a sweet treat, like a honey-tea tree oil foot bath! It is very easy to make and trust me, your feet are going to love it! And you never know, it just may relax you and allow you to get rid of some of that daily stress!

Ingredients:

• Warm water (enough to fill a soaking tub about halfway)

• ½ cup apple cider vinegar

• One lemon (sliced)

• ½ cup of honey

• 6 drops tea tree oil

• 2 drops of peppermint oil (can substitute other essential oils, such as sandalwood oil - peppermint is great, though, because it adds a little aromatherapy)

Directions:

1. Warm enough water to fill the soaking tub about halfway (you don't want it to overflow when you stick your feet in there)

2. Slice the lemon into very thin slices and remove all seeds. Add slices to the water.

3. Add honey and stir into the water so it loses its viscosity

4. Add cider, peppermint oil, and tea tree oil and give it a quick stir

5. Now sit on the sofa, stick your feet into the tub, and say "Ahhhhhhh"

Let your feet soak for about 20-30 minutes. Grab a book, relax, and enjoy it.
