Tips to Keep Your Tummy Tight without Exercise

Any personal trainer will tell you that a dedicated workout of crunches and core building exercises is the key to having a flat tummy in time for summer vacation. While working out is an important part of staying fit and healthy, so is being conscious of how the foods we eat and how they affect us. A terrible diet will ruin all of the hard work you have done in the gym and can stop you from achieving the taut tummy for which you have been exercising so hard. One way to achieve this is by ridding the body of toxins.

Why is Removing Toxins so Important?

Toxins build up in the body, especially in our digestive tracts, when we eat large quantities of unhealthy or processed foods. Often times, these toxins build up to an unhealthy level which causes us to feel bloated, sluggish, and generally “not good.” When trying to look good in your swimsuit, having unsightly belly bloating is not attractive and uncomfortable - removing the toxins is key to making this go away. Here are some simple diet tricks to help remove toxins and belly bloat without having to do one more sit-up.

Stay Away from Carbonated Drinks

The most common cause of bloating and aggravated intestines is fizzy or carbonated drinks. Drinking soda, sparkling water, and carbonated alcoholic beverages often causes gas to become trapped in the digestive tract that is often hard for the body to move. A great way to avoid bloating from carbonation and gas is to simply not drink them. Swap sparkling water for regular water or that sugary soda for an iced tea. Avoiding these types of drinks can help keep bloat to a minimum and keep your tummy tight.

Try Apple Cider Vinegar and Manuka Honey

We usually don’t think of apple cider vinegar when we think of a delicious weight-loss drink but, even though it may leave a bitter taste in your mouth, this type of vinegar is great for digestion, lowering blood sugar, and even aiding in weight loss. If you find sipping apple cider vinegar to be unbearable – and most people do – you can add a small amount of Manuka honey to the mix. Manuka honey is a great natural sweetener but also has antibiotic properties to help balance and restore your digestive system.
