Manuka Honey Recipes, Raw Honey

For those who consider themselves serious fans of peanut butter, you need a recipe that not only challenges your idea of your favorite food but also provides you with some variety you did not even know existed. What you need is this recipe right here for maple and honey roasted peanut butter!

While the idea of making your own peanut butter may sound like an all-day affair, it is actually much simpler than it seems and requires only a few extra ingredients to pull off a maple and honey roasted variety. All you need is a food processor and your typical baking instruments—bowls, whisks, etc.—and no more than an hour of your time. If you are ready to try out this must-have, almost dessert-like peanut butter, then throw on your apron, turn on your oven, and let’s get started!

Ingredients for Maple and Honey Roasted Peanut Butter

  • 1 pound of lightly salted raw peanuts, shelled
  • 2 tablespoons plus 3 teaspoons of maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of Manuka honey
  • 3/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons of unrefined, melted coconut oil
  • Butter crackers (for serving)

Directions for Maple and Honey Roasted Peanut Butter

  1. To begin, preheat your oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit on the Bake setting, and then use parchment for lining a baking sheet, setting to the side for later.
  2. Using a large-enough bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, the honey, the vanilla extract, and the coconut oil until the contents are smooth and blended.
  3. Throw in the raw peanuts with your honey mixture, tossing to coat. Move the mixture into your baking sheet lined with parchment and spread in a consistent layer, baking for about 12 minutes and stirring midway through your cook time. Remove the dish from the oven, allowing it to cool down for between eight and ten minutes. Afterward, the peanuts should still have some warmth to them.
  4. Transfer the peanuts into your food processor’s carafe, blending until smooth between four and five minutes. Note: Processing peanuts while they are still warm will give you a much creamier product. From there, you may serve the honey roasted peanut butter with butter crackers—you should have between 16 and 20 servings.
  5. Note: If you have some peanut butter left over, store it inside an air-tight container in your fridge.
