Skin Care Hacks for Men with Oily Skin
July 04, 2020
If you have oily skin and are looking for some natural ways to reduce the oil on your skin, you don't want to miss this!
Manuka Honey Products For Skin Care
Just because you are a man does not mean you should be ignoring your skin, especially during this pandemic. At some point, the doors will all open and everyone will be rushing outside again, so you don’t want to be the one with dry, irritated skin or big oily splotches all over your face. We found some good advice specifically for men with oily skin on MensXP and we thought we would share it with you.
Don’t Eat Oily Food
First and foremost, you need to understand that what goes into your body is just as important as the skin care products you use. This time of year, fast food and oily food is a favorite, such as wings, mozzarella sticks, and French fries, not to mention all those great boardwalk treats, like funnel cake and deep-fried Oreos.
If you want clear skin, you are going to need to cut band and/or eliminate eating so many oily foods. If you love them that much, you may want to consider investing in an air fryer, which gives you that same crispy taste without all that oil and needless calories.
Use Some Lemon
Using lemon in your water is a great way to stay hydrated, but it can also be used ON your skin to fight against acne. Additionally, the acidic properties of citrus fruits can help cut through the oil and tighten up those pores on your face.
Use Aloe Vera
This may be one of the most versatile forces of nature and if you are not using aloe vera yet, you really need to change up your skincare routine to include it. Not only can it be used to help heal sunburned skin, but it can also help reduce acne and prevent acne scarring. This is also recommended to help small cuts heal to prevent scarring as well. What some people may not realize, though, that in addition to its healing and hydrating benefits, aloe vera can also absorb the oil on your face.
Use Raw Manuka Honey
Raw honey is right up there with aloe vera as an incredible natural product that can help your skin, especially oily skin. The natural antibacterial and antiseptic qualities of raw honey are often touted as a way to naturally treat acne and oily skin. This is generally done in a face wash or face mask, recipes of which you can find aplenty on our website and all over the internet.
As always, before changing up your skincare routine, we recommend speaking to your dermatologist to ensure and changes to your skincare program will work in coordination with other products you may already be using.
