3 Home Spa Treatments to Consider During COVID-19 Quarantine
May 17, 2020
Don't let COVID-19 rob you of your spa day!
Manuka Honey Products For Skin Care
By now, everybody’s “true self” is starting to show up. Haircuts have not been had for two months, the ladies have not had their spa days, and we are all looking a little too relaxed in our pajamas and sweats. At some point, we are all going to go back out into the real world after the COVID-19 pandemic is over, so why not turn that bathroom into a spa for the day and try some of these DIY spa treatments to get back on track.
Scalp Rub
One of my personal favorite reasons for visiting a hair salon is the shampoo treatment. My scalp always feels better and it just seems like they are able to get the residue that is created when you are using home products. Most of us will have all the ingredients needed already in-home, so no worries, you still won’t need to walk outside for this recipe!
Ingredients:
- 1T Coconut oil
- 2T Sugar
- 1t Apple cider vinegar
- 1t Raw honey
- 3 drops Rosemary essential oil
To make:
- Combine first three ingredients in a small dish and mash with a fork
- Add honey and essential oil, then continue to mash/mix until all ingredients are well-combined
- Apply to hair in portions about the size of a quarter and massive into the scalp
- Allow mixture to sit in your scalp while you finish your bath/shower, then rinse and use your usual shampoo
Face Cleanser
If you have fun out of expensive facial cleaners and CV-19 has you tightening the purse strings, we can put together a handful of ingredients that will mimic those high-priced items you are used to using:
Ingredients:
- 2T Jojoba oil
- 1 oz Castile soap
- 3t Raw honey
- ¼t Tea tree oil
- ¼t Vitamin E
- 10 drops Lemon essential oil
- ½c filtered water
To make:
Mix all ingredients together in a closed bottle or jar until well-combined. Seal bottle or jar after every use to keep ingredients fresh.
Face Mask
A steady diet of air conditioning and no sunlight could have your skin looking a bit arid and blotchy by now. This facemask will reduce the redness and brighten your skin. If there is any residue after you initially rinse, continue to rinse until all yellow tint is gone from your skin:
Ingredients:
- 1T Manuka honey
- 1/2t Ground Turmeric
- One squeeze of fresh lemon juice
- 1T rolled oats
To make:
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Apply to skin and allow to sit for about 15 minutes before rinsing with warm water.
