Manuka Honey Products For Skin Care
When you look at the cost of cosmetics today, women can go broke paying not only for their makeup, but for the products needed to remove the makeup before they go to bed! Rather than paying the cosmetic companies even more money, we found a few items that are more than likely already in your pantry that can be used to remove your makeup.
Raw Honey
Raw honey is the perfect skin cleanser to use at the end of the day. In addition to removing the makeup, we are seeing more and more stories of people using raw honey to help them with skin blotches and acne. All you need to do is apply raw honey to your face and allow it to sit for about 10 minutes. Wash it off with luke warm water. For those with dry skin, add some whole milk to the honey. If you have oily skin, a few drops of lemon will do the trick.
Oil
No, not your Wesson Oil, but rather olive oil, coconut oil, or almond oil. However, we would only recommend using this “condiment” if you have dry skin. If your skin is more sensitive, you can add a few drops of rose water to the oil. The oil should be applied with a cotton ball to remove the makeup and washed off with warm water.
Yogurt
You are obviously not going to use strawberry and banana yogurt, but rather a plain, non-flavored yogurt. If you know how to make your own yogurt, even better. Like the oil, the yogurt should be applied to your face with a cotton ball to remove the makeup. Use cool water to rinse your face when you are done.
Milk
Whole milk is also a great cleanser for your face because of its natural fats and proteins. These will help the skin retain its moisture, so we definitely recommend this for those with overly dry skin. You can rinse your face with cool water after you have cleansed it with whole milk.
Baby Shampoo
While you may not want to clean your entire face with baby shampoo, we recommend using this around the eye area. These shampoos are made with a baby’s eyes in mind, so it is the perfect solution for a non-traditional makeup cleanser. To use, make sure your eyes remain shut, then wet your eyelids with warm water. Put just a dab of the baby shampoo on a cotton ball and rub it over the eyelids to remove the makeup. Dip a towel in warm water and gently wipe your eyelids to remove the shampoo and makeup remnants.
