Blue Borage Honey is Great for Spreads and Dressings

Adding honey to a recipe is a great way to change the taste profile of a “normal” recipe. Blue Borage honey is a nice alternative to “regular” honey and less expensive than cooking with Manuka honey. Blue Borage Honey Butter
This recipe combines the creaminess of butter with the great sweet flavor of honey, making it the perfect spread for your morning toast, scone or other breakfast item!
Blue Borage Honey Butter Ingredients:
- 1 lb. butter
- ¼ cup Blue Borage Honey
- ½ tsp. vanilla extract
- ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
Directions for Blue Borage Honey Butter
- Using a dough scraper, cut the butter into chunks. Place butter into a bowl and beat using a stand mixture or hand mixer at a low speed using the whisk attachment until the butter becomes loose.
- Increase the mixer speed to medium and add the Blue Borage Honey, vanilla extract and ground cinnamon. Continue to beat until well combined, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
- Remove the butter mixture from the bowl and spoon onto plastic wrap or parchment paper.
- Roll butter mixture into a log and refrigerate for two hours.
- Remove from refrigerator, cut and spread on your toast or other item and enjoy!
Blue Borage Honey Mustard Dressing
This honey mustard dressing is not just great for salads but can also be used on many side dishes and even as a marinade for chicken or other favorite protein!
Blue Borage Honey Mustard Dressing Ingredients:
- ¼ cup Blue Borage Honey
- ¼ cup plus 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
- ¼ cup cider vinegar
- ¼ cup plus 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 ½ tsp. kosher salt
Directions for Blue Borage Honey Mustard Dressing
- In a medium bowl combine Blue Borage Honey, Dijon mustard, cider vinegar and salt. Whisk together until well combined.
- Slowly drizzle in vegetable oil, continuing to whisk, until the mixture becomes smoother and creamier. Continue to add oil until the dressing becomes you preferred consistency.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and immediately store in the refrigerator.
- Blue Borage Honey Mustard dressing will stay in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- Drizzle on your favorite salad or side dish and enjoy!
