Is Manuka Honey the Duchess’ Skin Secret?

Manuka Honey Products For Skin Care
A mere 24 hours after giving birth, Duchess Catherine stepped out for the entire world to see and looked spectacular. She had the world asking, how could anyone look so good after having just given birth to a child a day earlier? Some publications are reporting that it is her skin regime, which of course features Manuka honey!
Being a “Royal”, we knew she would be ready when the cameras starting going off, but surely nobody expected her to look this good. The Duchess reportedly used bee sting facials to keep her “youth” while pregnant. Luckily, this type of therapy is not nearly as painful as it sounds. In fact, there is no actual “stinging” at all.
According to Marie Claire US, the therapy is used to “trick” the skin into thinking that it has been stung by a bee. When this happens it”…essentially increases blood flow to the skin’s surface, boosting collagen product and cell renewal.” Some of the ingredients mentioned by Marie Clare are:
• Shea butter
• Essential oils
Of course, they are holding back on a “secret ingredient”, but you know what we think the real culprit in this magical formula is! Again, according to Marie Claire, this treatment is used by many other worldly beauties, such as Michelle Pfeiffer, Kylie Minogue, and Victoria Beckham.
While we may not have been able to land the secret recipe for the Duchess’ bee sting therapy, we do have another facial mask recipe we think you will find very useful. It combines lemons with honey to not only cleanse your skin, but is also a great way to relax.
Honey Lemon Facial Mask
You will need:
• Mixing bowl
• Spoon
Ingredients:
• 1T Manuka Honey
• Organic Lemon (cut in half – only using one half)
Fill a large bowl with boiling water. Lean your face over the bowl and cover your head with a towel to allow steam to open your pours. Obviously, be very careful not to actually touch the water. When your pores are fully open, combine honey and juice of one-half of the lemon into a small bowl. Mix the ingredients with a spoon until well combined.
Once the ingredients are combined, apply them to your face (be sure to avoid getting the mixture into your eyes). Allow the mask to sit undisturbed for 30 minutes.
To remove, rinse your face with warm water only. Once the mixture has been removed, rinse again with cool water to close the pores. Pat dry with a soft towel.
